glacier

Sometimes people think that they have a good idea. People will love it. Depending on the power that the idea person has, maybe the idea is more popular or less popular. In a lab, there is a vital river logic that is coursing over new terrain. Ideally. Things are new because you are learning from experiments. Things are logical because thats how you draw conclusions.

Glacier doesnt mind so much what gets said anymore. You cant recommend me to a high flying lab? You dont think thats going to change? You are not excited about the project? You think we might eeck out a manuscript in some minor journal? You will be dissapointed if I am a seventh year still muddling around here? You feel that all my comments and actions have been directed in such a way as to insult you? You think that paper in your hand is going to be accepted at one of your favorite vanity journals? You think I have trouble collaborating with the other people in the lab who continue to pursue goals you come up with, for ever and ever? I guess your right big guy.

Because I have plans to pursue research no matter what happens between me and my boss, it is a concern. If I just wanted to wash cars for ever, he would have little trouble letting me go. Doctorate or not. I will be doing molecular biology somewhere though, so someone is going to have to explain what has been going on. I can explain it. He will explain it in some fashion. He is good at that. These explanations will be different. His publication record however, is public and indisputable.
