Surprise Returns

Gains on investments in individualism. I hold ground against a post doc who wants to infringe. Even if he cant help it, he has to do a better job of communicating to get me involved, and if he cant, it is more likely to fail. It did fail. A quick and dirty version of the experiment bossman wanted started 9 months ago. Other labs do versions of this technique with varying degrees of not ever success. He says get involved. Help postD out. Get on the reals with him. Dude is not up to sharing the protocol, and I ask for it all week. Weak. I actually yell. Totally unprofessional. He eeks out through the mouth that its because I wouldnt give him my protocol before. Totally fact: I ran two samples at boss behest, saw little, and denied the papers. If he needed the instructions he had to go up for them on the ladder, and he didnt.

I didnt even want the gd protocal he wrote for quick and (never work) dirty version of a full prep. But as a political foothold, I was able to turn the thing into a

"HEY BITCHES WTF IS ALL THIS NOISE"

So I get a nice friday the thirteenth release of pain. A session worth ten with a professional. I get to complain about unkept assurances, and hear that my territory is clear. This was epic. I get to say things like I am proud to be a member of the team. I get drunk, I get to relax a little, have a nice weekend with the woman. Monday, boom, back into the wild west with the mthfnkn thieves. Sphere of influence is crowded by more bitches getting up in the realm. And I dont mean women. I dont own this project, the lab does. However, I am not at liberty to hear about more people, and undergrad minions, doing crappy versions of a full blown experiment. There are projects and experiments. A full blown experiment supports final results that include biological replicates. There is a rationale or a point to a full blown experiment.

So I react poorly. I get to hear about it wednesday, bitch about another teammate. I think thurday she got toasted. Crispy. Lets see what rolls.
