Promising

I get to go to a meeting at a hallowed venue of science. That will be amazing, and encouraging for the interim. I will be the cheap slut who is there one an extra dime. no abstract. I know it will be an enriching experience for having gone to a conference last year. That helped immensely, although I had nothing to present. This is the last time that happens for a while though. I will at least have a story to tell people. So the interim will be more fun filled.

It was nice, it turns out, to have the undergrad really expand the crap out of the cell lines. Then they were all there and mostly happy, so they all got dna. Maybe the choices werent the most educated, but now I have a recent prep with most of the protocol set. Today was the day where you decide what crazy things to add to the cells before harvest. We grow cells, treat with dsRNA, maybe treat with more stuff, then do expression. I would like something better than excel to do the charts in though.

I stuck my neck out a bit like Obama did with the stupid remark. Most people seem to agree that it was stupid, and they now argue that it doesnt matter, it wasnt the presidents place to speak up there. Whatever bitches. You have no idea what the president can do. Get with the program.

So anyway Im writing more things down, but only on postits really. Went back late to the lab and there was a surprising new mix of people there. Yeah the cap on the rotor screws on backwards. Where have you been dog? I hope to hit the lab late more often, but not yet. Maybe if I stay at the womans house more and see her on a late schedule. She will have TAing so it could happen. Its so peaceful there. No crank dat soldier boy or anything. Big man talked to me today very peacefully. I am like in a video game with a force field around me, this undergrad. No poison spews forth. Mans under some pressure it seems, but he is rather chilled out. He is almost looking defeated. The toll of not getting things published and not being able to be on top of things like he used to irks him more. Be easy big man, youve done well, and Im going to do right by you.
