I read a story about illegal dumping around the Ivory Coast a long time ago. It was amazing to think of how much money there is to be made by doing chemistry at sea, in a boat, and then disposing of it somewhere in the ocean. Many of you are familiar with the size of the ocean of course. Well, that much was normal, you could say. I find the story of the pirates near somalia interesting. Some say they protect the waters from dumping. Well the story was evidently pulled from the BBC website because of laywers, so I hope anyone interested will check out the story here. Things like this make me reject common guidelines and popular ideas. The framework simply does not work well enough for me. Some say it is the best we have. I am not convinced.
My work continues but my stress grows. I just cant get things organized enough. It will be quieter in the lab as holidays approach which is good. I think my personal popularity in the lab has dropped some in recent weeks. Slightly at least. I cant be bothered. I will try to be nice. Im simply not happy enough. I might take time off. Im working up lead candidate. My girl will be looking at it down the road but no time soon. I wish I had her youth and open mindedness. Naivete can be quite an asset.
