Rumblings

When Chief says that something is awesome and we can do XYZ with it I get a pain in my stomach. Within a week I have gone from getting stronger, finding results, finding structure to mess again. Boss goes away for a week, talks to all his old friends and enemies, gets some vague ideas, fills in the blanks creatively and tells the lab about new experiments we should try. Sometimes they are projects, not to be taken lightly, other times they are experiments. Any time someone says "just blah bling bat" you know you are screwed. Not only is this experiment informative but its easy! Why didnt you already do it? Go do it now!

I understand that time away from the bench, as well as the womb, seem to change the way you think about other people's work. It makes you think that its easier than it is. To keep the wolf at bay this week, I will have to get some wreckless clues. This is where you over interpret your data to give the boss something to mentally chew on.
